Welcome to V4ult("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account information (email address, name, password hash)
  • Documents you upload (receipts, invoices, warranties, contracts, utility bills)
  • Metadata extracted from documents (amounts, dates, merchant names, expiry dates)
  • Subscription and payment information (processed via RevenueCat; we do not store card details)
  • Referral codes and share links you generate or use
  • Messages sent to our AI assistant ("Ask V4ult")
  • Device information (device type, OS version, push notification token)
  • Usage analytics (features used, session duration — aggregated and anonymised)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Process and classify your documents using AI models
  • Send reminders for warranties, subscriptions, and contract renewals
  • Enable shared vault features with people you explicitly invite
  • Process premium subscription purchases and referral rewards
  • Send push notifications (FCM) for document alerts and reminders
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Improve and personalise the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. AI Processing

V4ult uses artificial intelligence to classify, extract, and enrich data from your documents. This processing occurs on our servers. Document content may be processed by third-party AI providers under strict data processing agreements. We do not use your document content to train external AI models without your explicit consent.

The "Ask V4ult" AI assistant operates solely over your own stored data within the Service. Queries and responses are retained only to provide the feature and are not used for advertising.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers — cloud infrastructure, AI processing, push notification delivery (FCM), payment processing (RevenueCat), and analytics — all under confidentiality agreements.
  • Shared Vault Members — only the documents and metadata within a vault you have explicitly shared.
  • Legal Requirements — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app settings. Deleted data is purged from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
